How the Award Failed Email Works and When It Sends #

1. Review the award failed email template 0:00

  • Open the Award Failed email template in the editor.
  • The default message says something like:
    • “Dear Parent, the student has failed their award and we’ll retest them again on a session next week.”
  • This is only an example template.
  • You can customize the wording to match how your school or program handles failed awards.
  • You may want to include extra details, files, or a more helpful explanation for parents.

2. Understand what triggers the failed award email 0:33

  • Go into a specific session.
  • Select View Awards.
  • Mark a student’s progress through the award as needed.
  • If the student cannot continue and needs to be marked as unsuccessful, use the Fail button.
  • This action is what triggers the failed award process.

3. Recognize the failed status in the award view 0:45

  • After failing the student, a small exclamation mark appears.
  • This icon indicates the student failed last time.
  • When you return to the award view later, you can see that the student is continuing from that point.

4. Confirm the parent email is sent 0:56

  • Once the student is failed, the system sends the parent the configured email template.
  • The email informs them that the student has failed the award.
  • It also explains that they will be retested again next week.
  • The exact wording and any extra information are fully up to you.
